The text editor appears throughout the platform. In addition to all standard text formatting options, the editor that allows administrators design flexibility when creating opportunities and applicants and reviewers options when submitting responses.

Text Editor Basics


The toolbar allows:

  • Overall tools - identified in purple below
  • Formatting - identified in red below
  • Inserting - identified in green below

Overall Tools

A. Accessibility help - Displays a menu of keyboard shortcuts to use within the editor

B. Enter fullscreen mode - Use to expand the view similar to a document

C. Undo and Redo

R. View Source Code

  • This option is rarely needed but allows more granular adjustments. 
  • It is most helpful for areas like the homepage that you may want to style in a specific way.

D. Font Formatting

  • Font Size
  • Font Family
  • Font Color
  • Font Background Color

F. Remove Format

  • Most useful to get a "clean slate" when pasting from another source.
  • Once formatting is removed, use the text editor tools to design.

G. Numbered List - Useful for instructions or outlines. Letter and number options.

I. Alignment

  • Decrease indent
  • Increase indent
  • Align left
  • Align right
  • Center
  • Justify

J. Heading - Select specific heading or leave as default paragraph text.

Inserting Tools

K. Link

  • Insert a link to a webpage. 
  • The link will automatically open in a new tab when a user clicks on it. 
  • Email addresses can either be typed directly or preceded by "mailto:" (e.g., mailto:info@inforeadycorp.com)
  • Links can also be removed from this menu.

L. Insert table - Click to select the number of initial rows/columns, which can be modified later.Admin view of inserting table

M. Images - Insert from either your computer (simplest) or via a URL

N. Insert media

  • Include a URL to a clip or video that is then embedded in the platform.
  • Note: Media can be viewed directly in the platform by admins and reviewers but will NOT display in InfoReady PDFs.

O. Special characters - Select from the menu to insert mathematical, currency, and unique letter symbols.

P. Horizontal line - Break up large blocks of text with a thick grey horizontal line (color cannot be changed)



Q. Block quote - Make text stand out from the rest.
