It is often helpful to hide opportunities from the homepage or remove them either before or after* the submission deadline.
*One example for leaving opportunities up after the submission deadline is related to limited submissions. Sometimes limited submissions do not receive applications, and leaving the opportunity up will inform faculty and researchers that it is still open.
When you are creating or editing, scroll down to the middle of the Details page to set the Internal Submission Deadline. The Remove from Homepage Date is automatically set to the same date, but you can change it.
You can set the Remove from Homepage Date to be after the Internal Submission Deadline to leave the opportunity showing on the homepage past the internal submission deadline.
Or, you can set the Remove From Homepage Date to a date before the Internal Submission Deadline. If you check the box to show applicants the removal date in lieu of the submission deadline, it will show that date as the deadline to applicants.
Tip: If you make the Remove from Homepage Date in the past (i.e., any date before the launch date), you create a hidden or invitation-only opportunity. You can then share the direct link to only invited applicants. (However, the launch date will still show on the calendar).
Administrator View of Details Page (if Remove from Homepage Date is before Internal Submission Deadline)
Applicant View of Details Page (if Remove from Homepage Date is before Internal Submission Deadline, and the "Show Remove from Homepage Date to applicants instead of Internal Submission Deadline" box is checked)
