When you set up reference letters on the Requirements page, you have two choices for the reference letter deadline:
- Use the Internal Submission Deadline.
- Select a date and time after the application deadline to give the letter writers more time to submit their letters.

You can give more details to applicants in the Instructions box, and the deadline you select will automatically populate in the Email message for reference letter writers box:

Reference letter writers will not be able to submit letters after the letter submission deadline. However, administrators can edit the deadline by editing it on the Requirements page at any time to extend the letter deadline or upload the letter on their behalf.
