Retiring the Funding and General Templates
Since being introduced in December 2023, the Form Designer template has been the preferred option to create opportunities in InfoReady due to its improved functionality and usability over other templates. For those that haven’t made the switch to Form Designer, it’s now time to upgrade your Funding and General template opportunities to make them easier for you to manage and for applicants and reviewers to complete their forms.
We’ve worked the last several months to make the process of upgrading existing Funding and General template opportunities as smooth as possible. You will see information throughout the platform about how to complete the upgrade process for any opportunity that you may need to upgrade.
Between now and July 1, 2026:
- We encourage you to create any new opportunities with the Form Designer template.
- Begin upgrading any competitions you expect that you will need to use after July 1.
- Attend training webinars dedicated to the upgrade to the Form Designer template. We’ll be hosting monthly webinars on the topic, with different webinars covering either basic or advanced concepts. See here for the full list of webinar options.
Any opportunities launched with the Funding or General templates before July 1, 2026 will not be impacted. You will continue to be able to manage those opportunities for the duration of those opportunities, including Progress Reports. Any opportunities created with the General or Funding templates after July 1 will need to be upgraded before you can launch them.
For complete information on the upgrade process, see Transferring Existing Opportunities to the Form Designer Template on the InfoReady Support Portal.
Features and Enhancements
In this release, we’ve made the following updates.
Upgrading Templates to Form Designer
Identifying competitions and templates to upgrade. To aid administrators in their efforts to upgrade competitions to the Form Designer template, we’ve added the type of InfoReady template associated with each draft competition, administrators’ saved templates (“My Templates”) and sitewide templates:
- In the list of competition drafts and templates that appears on the right side of the Manage page.
- In the template selector on the Create page.
- In the Sitewide Templates section of the Configure Platform page within the Admin tab.
Upgrade "My Templates" and "Shared Templates". Administrators may now upgrade these templates. The experience is similar to the experience of upgrading a competition. Selecting any non-Form Designer template from the Create page or clicking a template on the right side of the Manage page will prompt administrators to consider upgrading now or continuing with the selected template to create a competition. Once upgrade, on the Finalize page of the new template, top-level administrators can choose to share the template with others.
A note on “Shared Templates”: Administrators may upgrade any template that has been shared with them. Upgrading a “Shared Template” only creates a new template for the administrator performing the upgrade; they will find the new template under “My Templates”.
Sitewide Templates. The highest-level administrator on a tenant may upgrade “Sitewide Templates” by visiting Admin > Configure Platform. Updates to this area allow administrators to upgrade a template and always have access to the original template.
Previously, only the Internal Submission Date could be added by downloading an iCalendar File. The new functionality builds on this idea by allowing any date to be directly added to a user’s personal calendar (i.e., Microsoft, Google, iCloud, etc.). The calendar event opens with a title that matches the specific date and includes a link to the competition. Users can then add any details they’d like or even “invite” others to the event like any other calendar event.
On a related note, we would like to remind administrators that the Calendar page is being retired as part of the upgrade to the new InfoReady homepage.
Competitions using Primary Organizations
When viewing the Details page for a competition, applicants sometime miss the fact that they need to add a primary organization to their user profile for competitions that limit applicants to certain organizations. We’ve added additional messaging on the Details page and the application page to help users understand this requirement.
Accessibility
We continue to make improvements across the platform. Changes to federal accessibility requirements are coming on April 24, 2026. We are working diligently to ensure that your InfoReady tenant meets accessibility standards.
This release we made major updates throughout the platform to:
- Support responsiveness and browser zoom
- Modals (i.e. popup boxes)
- Status messages
If you spot a specific accessibility issue at any time, please submit a ticket to the support team.
We have updated the VPAT, which can always be found by clicking the “Accessibility” link in the lower right corner of your InfoReady site.
Other Enhancements
Every release addresses a variety of bugs, performance improvements, and accessibility enhancements to maximize your InfoReady experience. The InfoReady Support Team will reach out directly to any clients who have submitted tickets for any issues resolved with this release.
Key Fixes and Updates
- We’ve restored the “Pending” status for reviewers in the Reviews tab that includes all their incomplete reviews and the “Send Review Digest Email Now” link above the Data Grid.
- To support the increasing variety of rolling and ongoing processes, we’ve removed the extra clicks needed to batch award and reject applications. Even if the deadline hasn’t passed or reviews are still underway, you’ll be able to take these actions without acknowledging a second modal.
- When managing progress reports, we fixed an issue in the Post Award tab of the Data Grid so that different reports can be selected to view in the grid.
