Do you have one or more reviewers that will be evaluating all applications? List them in the Default Reviewer(s) section of the routing step creation process to save time later on. Adding default reviewer(s) to a routing step can serve one of two purposes:
- Pre-populating the review assignment. When an administrator assigns reviewers, the review assignment will already have the correct reviewer email address(es) listed.
- Shown in step 1 below.
- Automatically assigning reviewer(s). After adding reviewer email address(es), check the box next to "Automatically assign reviews". Once the application is accepted into the review process, the default reviewer(s) will automatically be assigned to the routing step for the application(s).
- Shown by combining steps 1, 2, and 3 below.
- For step 3 (Review Deadline), you can keep the selection as Specific Date and enter a date, or choose Offset Date to have the platform calculate the deadline. Offset is a good option for rolling processes. Learn more.
Other Notes about Default Reviewers:
- If the default reviewer does not have an existing account, they will receive a system-generated email informing them an account was created on their behalf by the administrator. The platform will create the account automatically (admins will not have do take the action manually).
- The default reviewer will not get a system-generated account creation email if the reviewer already has an account in InfoReady.
- If a default reviewer is assigned to the first routing step of an application, they will receive an email notification of the review assignment as soon as the application is accepted.
- If a default reviewer is assigned to any routing step after the first, they will be notified of the review assignment after all reviews in prior routing steps are complete (for the assigned application) via the Review Requests Digest Email.
*Do not add a space after commas to separate multiple email addresses in the Default Reviewer field. Please read this article for more details.
