The information below refers specifically to the initial administrator action of returning the application prior to the Internal Submission Deadline. If instead you need to return the application at a later point in the review process, please view this article: Return for Revisions Routing Step: Overview
If an application has been submitted but an administrator needs the applicant to make edits, they can return the application to the applicant.
Important Notes
- Only applications with status of Submitted can be returned.
- Once an application has been Accepted, it cannot be returned. At that point, an administrator would need to make edits on the applicant's behalf. (The exception is when a Return for Revisions routing step is utilized in the review process).
- Returning an application puts the application in a draft state for the applicant. They must re-submit before the Internal Submission Deadline.
Steps to Return an Application
- From the Data Grid, click the application title.
- Click the Accept or Return Application button on the right.
- Click the radio button next to Return Application.
- Customize the subject line (if needed) and message.
- Click Send.
