By default, only users with administrator privileges can be added as co-administrators to opportunities. However, there are often cases where you need to add someone who doesn't yet have admin permissions on the platform. In those situations, a Super Admin—or a Global Admin, if microsites are enabled—must either create a new account or upgrade an existing user’s permissions.
To simplify this process, we now offer an optional feature that can be enabled for your site. Once active, it allows you to add co-administrators directly from the Details page. If the individual doesn’t already have an account, one will be created automatically, and administrator privileges will be granted at the same time—streamlining the entire process.
Here are the outcomes for various scenarios:
- New Users - An admin enters the email address of any individual not in the platform (within allowed email domains, if configured) to be a co-administrator. Once added, the individual will receive a single notification to activate the new account, share information about the opportunity, and provide information about access and the admin role.
- Existing Users - An administrator may search for and select an existing user. Once added, the user will receive a single notification to share information about the opportunity and provide information about platform access and the administrator role.
- Mircosites - For institutions with microsites enabled. Any new administrators created through the flexible
co-administrator process will only receive administrative privileges on the microsite associated with that opportunity. The flexible co-administrator feature can be especially helpful to customers with many administrators, decentralized organizations, or to new customers looking to speed up the onboarding process.
Please note that any administrators created by using the Flexible Co-Administrator option will count towards the admin seat allotment on your license.
