Once an opportunity is launched (or scheduled to launch), it cannot be un-launched (or un-published). 

However, if you need to hide it from view, we recommend temporarily changing the Remove from Homepage Date on the Details page to the past so that it doesn't show to potential applicants. Then when you're ready to advertise it again, you can change that date back to the future.

Note: The dates will still be visible on the Calendar when using this method.

Another option is to make a copy of the opportunity, leave in draft state, and then delete the currently live one. You'd only want to do this if you haven't shared the link externally already, such as in a newsletter or on a website. The copy of the current opportunity will have a different direct url than the original.
