InfoReady offers a variety of ways for Administrators to either ask applicants directly for edits or make changes on their behalf. The method you decide will depend on the answer to these questions:

What is the size of the change?

  • Smaller changes (e.g., a file swap) are often easier and quicker to make on the applicant's behalf.
  • Larger changes usually require applicants to make the changes.

Where is the application currently in the process?

  • The chart below gives some options based on how far the application has progressed.
  • Click any blue linked text to see step-by-step directions.
  • Below the chart, we give some real world scenarios for when certain options work better than others.

Scenarios

A. What if the requested application change(s) will need to go back through the entire review process?

  • Having an applicant re-submit a new (fresh) application is usually best, as long as more than one application is allowed per applicant.
  • Remember, applicants can copy their prior application as a starting point, which makes re-submitting much quicker.
  • This option will keep the original version as a separate application and allows for easy historical comparison.

B. What if the requested application change(s) occur in the middle of the review process?

  • A Return for Revisions step is typically the best option. This will allow the application to be returned to the applicant for edits and then re-enter the review process where it left off and continue forward.
  • It results in one application, with the version Admins and Reviewers see as the most updated (current) version.
  • If some applications need to be returned and others don't, that is fine! The reviewer on the Return for Revisions step can simply select "No", or the Administrator can skip the step for any application.

C. What if the requested application change(s) are to the application form as a whole, not just for specific applicants?

  • The same recommendations based on the chart above still apply.
  • However, you will likely want to utilize the Batch Actions menu in the Data Grid to process all applications at one time for actions like returning or rejecting. (Editing and deleting must be done at the individual application level).
