Beginning Spring 2024, the Multitrack template will be sunset in favor of the more flexible and powerful Form Designer template.

Requirements

The most common reason admins used Multitrack can now be addressed with conditional logic in FDT Pro

Use the first page to collect information that is required for all tracks, such as:

  • applicant contact info
  • the application title
  • the "screening" or "gating" question that determined the track, such as department, funding type, etc.
  • any other questions that are required for all tracks

Use additional sections and/or pages to segment and collect the unique information that would have previously been distinct on the Requirements page from each track.

  • Once all questions are made, use conditional logic to show only the section/page that applies for each track.
  • Use the Preview function as you build to check the logic.

If you used any custom InfoReady items, they are located in the InfoReady Tools section:

  • Primary Organization
  • Applicant Driven Routing steps
  • Co-Applicants
  • Reference Letters
  • Add Contacts for Notifications

Routing Steps

  • The new Form Designer routing step uses Form Designer and conditional logic.
  • Recommendations from above apply here as well.
  • As always, build any/all potential routing steps a submission may go through. Then, admins can choose which step(s) an application is assigned to.

Notifications

  • At this time, variations in email notifications per track cannot be accommodated using the Form Designer template.
  • If custom notifications were created per track, re-think how notifications were written to make the language broader and less specific to individual segments of your audience.

Progress Reports

When multirack was created, Progress Report functionality was different, with all PR forms visible to awardees and fewer options to assign due dates/reminders. This situation made multitrack more necessary if the admin intended to have different PRs for different groups.

  • Now a PR only appears for an awardee when it's assigned, allowing multiple PR forms to be available.
  • Unassigned PRs are not visible to awardees.
  • PRs also have conditional logic, which reduces the need for multiple PR forms that have small variations.
